"Whoever hears sayings of mine, and does them, is like a wise man, who built his house on a rock: And very much rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall, because it was grounded on the rock. And whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does not do them, is like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand: And very much rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was the fall of it. And when Jesus had ended these words, the people were astonished at his teachings. For he taught them like one with authority, and not like the Scribes."

Matt. 6:26-33 (AeP Tyndale21 Version)
See the birds of the air. They do not plant, nor do they harvest, nor do they gather food into barns; but your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they are? Which of you, just by thinking about it, can add one foot to his stature? And why worry about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field, and how they grow. They do not work, neither do they spin. And still, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. Why, if God clothes the grass of the field like this, which today exists, and is tomorrow thrown into the oven, will he not clothe you much better? Oh, you of little faith? So, do not worry, saying, What will we eat? or, What will we drink? or, With what will we be clothed? (For these things the Gentiles seek after) Your heavenly Father knows you need all these things. But rather, first seek the kingdom of Heaven, and the righteousness of it, and all these things will be given to you.

Matt. 21:18-22 in the AeP Tyndale21 Version of the Gospels
Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he was hungry. And when he saw a fig tree on the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it, but leaves, and said to it, Let no fruit grow on you from this time forward, forever. And the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they were amazed, saying, How quickly the fig tree withered away!
Jesus answered to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith, and do not doubt, you will not only do this which was done to the fig tree, but also if you will say to this mountain, Take yourself away, and throw yourself into the sea; it will be done. And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive it.

Matthew 20:17-19 (Abbott ePublishing Tyndale21 Version)
"And Jesus went to Jerusalem and took the twelve disciples aside during the trip and said to them, Look, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the Scribes, and they will condemn him to death, And will deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to whip, and to crucify him: and the third day he will rise again."

Mark 7:4-13 in the Abbott ePublishing / Tyndale21 Version of the Gospels
And when they come back from the market, unless they ritually wash their hands, they do not eat. And they have many other traditions they continue to observe, like ritually baptizing cups, pitchers, copper pots and reclining couches.
Then the Pharisees and Scribes asked him, Why do your disciples not live according to the traditions of the elders, but instead, eat bread with unwashed hands?
He said to them, Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching doctrines that are nothing but the precepts of men. Because you lay aside the commands of God and instead observe the traditions of men - like baptizing pitchers and cups, and many other kinds of things you do.
And he said to them, You are experts at rejecting the commands of God in order to maintain your own traditions. For Moses said, Honor your father and your mother; and, Whoever insults his father or mother let him be put to death! But you say, If a man ever says to his father or mother, It is Corban, meaning: the thing you desire has been dedicated by me to God, and you benefited from that gift. And you allow him to do no more for his father or his mother, In this way you erase God’s commands with your own traditions. And you do many things like this."

Luke 4:28 - 4:32 (Abbott ePublishing / Tyndale21 Version)
"And as many as were in the synagogue, when they heard him, were furious. And they stood up, and threw him out of the city, and led him to the top of the hill on which their city had been built, so they could push him over it. But he walked right through the middle of them and went away. And he went into Capernaum , a city of Galilee , and taught them on the Sabbath days. And they were astonished at his teachings, because preaching was powerful."

Matthew 12:33-12:37 in the Abbott ePublishing Tyndale21 Version of the Gospels
"Either declare the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree rotten, and his fruit rotten: for the tree is known by his fruit. Oh, generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings out good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings out evil things. But I say to you, every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it on the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
